When the Singularity Point Approaches: the Past, Present, and Future of Big Data

摘要
|
Recently, big data has become an overwhelmingly popular term in diversified application scenarios,
such as precision medicine, smart manufacturing, self-driving cars, and intelligent retailing. Among the various technologies
that construct the foundation of big-data, the key technologies are the big data analytics platform, in-memory computing,
data mining algorithms, and machine learning algorithms. Such technologies not only inspire innovative big-data services,
but also drive revolutional changes to our everyday life. This talk will first overview the popular existing techniques on each subarea in data science.
After that, we will identify our research highlights of some latest big data applications, such as health care, intelligent manufacturing,
and intelligent transport. Last but not least, we shall provide some predictions of the future directions of big data and highlight several
promising research focuses. |
